8 Ways to Pamper Yourself at Home

Have you been running yourself ragged? What with your job, your husband, your kids, their schooling, their sports and extra-curricular activities. It doesn’t matter if you have 1 child or 4, it still can be exhausting, especially when you have a grueling job and then have to run around with your children after work. So take a day and pamper yourself at home.

You don’t have to dish out an exuberant amount of money at a spa and salon. You can take care of your own pampering at home.

Have your husband take the kids for the day and get pampering. Here are 8 ways to pamper yourself at home!

1. Facial Mask

Getting a facial is definitely a great way to pamper yourself. But you don’t have to go to a spa to get a facial done. There are plenty at home facial masks that you can buy and give yourself your own facial at home.

The facial mask I have and use is a charcoal mask from Mary Kay. You can just apply it and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. After it’s been on for a little while, the mask will start to feel stiff and hard, which is what it’s supposed to feel. That’s how you know it’s working. After your time is up, wipe it off and you’ll feel clean and refreshed.

2. Foot Massage

Do you have a job where you’re on your feet all day or walk a lot. Or maybe you’re just running around all day after your little ones. If that’s the case, then a foot massage is a must on your pampering day at home.

Is your husband free? No one gives better foot massages than the loving husband. Am I right? Just sit back, relax while your husband gives you that much needed foot massage. Or if he’s not free because he has the kiddos all day, the next best thing is a foot massager. Do you have a foot massager at home. Plug it in and enjoy the heat and the amazing pressure on your feet as you sit back with a good book.

3. Back Massage

A back massage on your pampering day is even better than a foot massage. As suggested for a foot massage, if that husband of yours is free, have him give that nice back rub.

If he’s not available, a massage chair can be just as good. Get comfortable in the chair, turn it on, close your eyes, and just relax as you feel the rolling and tapping adding that much needed pressure all over your back.

4. Manicure

What color do you usually like on your nails? I always seem to tend to go with reds. I’d like to change it up once in a while and go with a different color, I wouldn’t normally choose. But for some reason I always end up back with red, a deep red.

Well, whatever color you decide on, grab that nail polish, nail clippers, nail file, nail polish remover, and a napkin.

  • First, take off the old nail polish.
  • Cut your nails to your desired length.
  • File your nails to the shape you want, whether it be rounded or squared. I prefer squared.
  • Cut any cuticles that needs it.
  • And start painting your nails. I like to start with a base, the nail polish color, and then a top coat. The nail polish will stay longer and prevent chipping so quickly if you follow that.
  • Use the nail polish remover to get any excess off that might have gotten on your skin.

5. Pedicure

After you are done with your manicure, move on to your pedicure using the same steps as listed above for a manicure. What better way to make your feet look cute in a pair of sandals or open toe shoes than having your toenails painted. And make sure to pick the same color as your nails so they can match. Unless you like the unique un-matching look.

6. Dye Your Hair

Are you looking for something different to do with your hair? Maybe a different style or a different color. I certainly get bored with my hair after awhile and look for something different to do with it. I’ve actually been wanting to dye my hair a dark brown and have had the hair dye in my drawer for a couple months now. Just haven’t gotten to it yet.

Your pampering day is the perfect time to dye your hair.

8. Groom Yourself – Waxing/Tweezing

Grooming yourself is another great one to add to your pampering day. And when I say grooming yourself, I mean waxing, tweezing, hair removal cream. You might want to clean up those eyebrows and lip that you’ve been putting off because you haven’t add time. I preferably like the skin so soft hair removal cream from Avon. It works wonders to get rid of that unwanted hair.

7. Soak in a Bubble Bath

What better way to relax than soaking in a nice hot bubble bath. Maybe enjoy it with a glass of wine and a good book. No better way than to end your pampering day.
